TrailTale

Canterbury Heritage Trail the Cradle of Christianity City Walk

Canterbury is best known for its magnificent Cathedral, the heart of Christian life in England, but there’s so much more to explore in this historic city. From its Roman origins to the imposing Norman Castle, Canterbury’s rich past unfolds at every turn. Stroll through the grand Abbey gates, marvel at the famous Baobab Plane trees, and don’t miss the delightfully crooked wonky house or the birthplace of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

This TrailTale walking tour begins at the impressive Westgate, guiding you through the city’s most significant landmarks before finishing at the High Street. From here, you can easily return to your car or continue your adventure through Canterbury’s charming streets. Let us lead you on a journey filled with history, stunning architecture, and hidden gems waiting to be discovered!

This walk covers a route, which is about 3.3 mile long (5.2 kms), and should take you about 3-4 hours of easy walk to complete.

I suggest parking your car in Canterbury West Station Car Park CT2 8AN.
