Explore the Timeless Beauty of Ledbury – A Walking Trail Through History
Nestled among the rolling hills of Herefordshire, the town of Ledbury is a true hidden gem—full of character, charm, and stories waiting to be discovered.
Once a modest settlement, Ledbury flourished with the arrival of wealthy clothier families, leaving behind a legacy of impressive timber-framed buildings that still stand proudly today. As you follow this delightful trail through the town, you’ll encounter its iconic landmarks—the striking Market Hall, the historic clock tower, and countless quaint details that tell the tale of a town transformed by craftsmanship and community.
No visit to Ledbury is complete without a stroll down the beloved Church Lane. This cobbled passage is a favourite among visitors—and for good reason. Every house along the lane offers something special, from unique architectural features to centuries-old charm. Don’t miss the Painted Room, with its rare 16th-century wall art, or the Old Grammar School, steeped in academic heritage.
Ledbury invites you to step back in time, admire its beauty, and walk through history at your own pace.
Come for the scenery, stay for the stories—Ledbury awaits.

This walk covers a route, which is about 1.5 mile long (2.4 kms), and should take you 1-2 hours of easy walk to complete.
Parking is not an issue here, but I suggest parking the car in the south entry, called The Southend.
